SHORELINE, Wash. — The King County Sheriff’s Office has issued an Amber Alert for two young girls who were abducted by their mother after she allegedly stabbed their father in Shoreline.
The suspect, Doreen Starrish, 28, was seen leaving with the two girls, ages 3 and 7, in a 2000 silver Lincoln Navigator with Washington license plate ABK0976.
According to a neighbor, the stabbing suspect is the victim’s ex-wife and the two girls are their daughters. An officer at the scene said Starrish came to the victim’s house in the 1500 block of NE 190th St. around 8:20 a.m. Thursday and the two argued. Starrish then stabbed the victim, grabbed the children and took off.
The two girls - 7-year-old Helen Smith and 3-year-old Alice Smith - are described as Native American. Both have brown eyes and brown hair.
Around 1:20 p.m., Seattle police officers spotted the vehicle near Lake City Way and NE 140th Street; however, neither the suspect nor the two children were inside. Police immediately towed the vehicle away and continue to search for the suspect and her daughters.
The registered owner of the Lincoln Navigator said he sold the vehicle to Starrish about a month ago and knows Starrish’s mother.
If you see the suspect or the children, you are asked to not approach them; instead call 911 immediately.
